THE JOB
What separates fighters from other roles
Most fighters need close range and enough time to cycle through their kit. That lets them hold an exchange, chase a target or draw attention to a side lane. Their entry timing often matters more than raw durability because they cannot absorb every response like a dedicated tank.
The Fighter tag covers sustain, control, chase and burst. It also overlaps with Tank and Assassin on several heroes. Lane, range and specialties on the individual guide show what that pick actually asks from a team.
Where fighters create an advantage
Contest EXP lane
Wave control and efficient trades turn into levels, position and available abilities when the next neutral objective appears.
Apply side pressure
Forcing an opponent to answer a side lane creates room elsewhere, provided the fighter has tracked safe exits.
Break the formation
Some fighters reach the back line while others pin down the front. Range, control and sustain decide which job is realistic.
