THE JOB
Why mid lane changes the whole map
The short distance between mid towers lets a hero finish the wave and leave earlier than a side laner. That advantage disappears if clearing consumes every resource or exposes the hero to an easy ambush.
Mage is the dominant role, but this directory follows recorded positions and can include hybrids. Range, control and mobility show whether a mid prepares the fight, begins it or supplies damage from behind allies.
Three mid lane jobs
Finish the wave
Clearing first buys time to move. Leaving live minions behind gives away pressure and can cost turret health.
Choose the rotation
Not every lane offers a play. Map information, allied control and enemy position decide which route deserves the time.
Control the approach
Area damage and crowd control can close corridors around an objective without chasing a takedown.
