SEASON 41 PROFILE

Frozen King

Bane

FighterMageJungleEXP Lane

Shark Bite helps Bane pressure turrets, Sea Ink restores his health, and Deadly Catch covers an entire corridor. He can poke before committing, but he wins games by turning a kill into a turret or Lord rather than extending the chase.

IN THE GAME SINCE
2016
  1. 01EARLY GAME

Use Crab Claw Cannon to secure minions and poke from a range that does not expose Bane to free crowd control.

  2. 02MID GAME

When enemies group in an entrance, cast Deadly Catch to cut off the retreat and advance behind the sharks rather than ahead of them.

  3. 03LATE GAME

After winning a fight, apply Shark Bite to the structure. Few heroes turn a small advantage into turret damage as quickly as Bane.

  1. HOW IT WORKS

Bane gains a stack of Tidal Energy whenever he casts a skill, up to two stacks. His next Basic Attack consumes one stack to deal splash Physical Damage based on his Physical Attack and the target's Max HP. The percentage damage is capped against Creeps.

  2. HOW IT WORKS

Bane fires his Crab Claw Cannon in the target direction, dealing 150–350 Physical Damage to the first enemy hit and then 150%–200% damage to a random enemy behind them (prioritizes enemy heroes). Enemies hit are slowed by 10% for 1 second. Every 100 Physical Attack that Bane possesses reduces this skill's cooldown by an additional 8%.

  3. HOW IT WORKS

Bane swallows a cup of sea ink, recovering 200 HP plus 5%–10% of his lost HP and gaining 50% extra Movement Speed that decays over 2.5 seconds. Use Again: Bane spits corrosive ink in the target direction, dealing 140–340 Magic Damage in a fan-shaped area; the damage can scale up to 200% with charging time. Every 100 Magic Power Bane possesses additionally reduces this skill's cooldown by 7%.

  4. HOW IT WORKS

Bane summons a school of sharks to charge in the target direction, dealing 700–1100 Magic Damage, knocking enemies airborne for 0.6 seconds, and slowing them by 75% (decays over 3 seconds). This skill deals 40% damage to turrets.

Bane is a niche choice here. The result is worth watching, but a low pick rate means it should not be read in isolation.

  2. v1.5.62ADJUSTMENT
    • ADJUSTMENTFollowing extensive testing, we've finally decided Bane's ready for everyone to try out. In this round of adjustments, we retained and enhanced his high damage dealing characteristics, and slightly increased both his survivability and mobility.
    • ADJUSTMENTMore importantly, we’ve made different Bane builds possible so that he can adjust to the ever-changing battlefield. You can continue to choose physical-focused equipment, and cast Skill 1 and enhanced Basic Attacks to poke from a safe distance; but now it's also possible to use new magic builds and get up close and personal, wiping out squishy enemies. You can even focus instead on building Bane's survivability, and shuttle across the battlefield as you please!
    • BUFFPassive: Damage of enhanced Basic Attacks: 160-190% → 150-200%
    • ADJUSTMENTPassive: Optimized the display of buff stacks on the Passive icon.

    • BUFFSkill 2: Cooldown: 10s → 7.5-4.5s
    • ADJUSTMENTSkill 2: Cooldown Calculation: Cast Start → Cast End
    • ADJUSTMENTSkill 2: New Effect: The cooldown reduces by 0.08% for each point of Magic Power (multiplication applied after cooldown reduction calculations).

QUICK ANSWERS

The questions players ask about Bane

01What is the best lane for Bane?+

Bane is currently played mainly in Jungle and EXP Lane. The guide separates the recommended builds by lane or job, so choose that tab before copying the six items.

02Which Bane build should I use?+

Start with «EXP Physical Pressure». The other options, «Jungle Objective Tempo» and «Magic Sustain Flex», are there for a different lane or match-up; they are not cosmetic variations.

03Which heroes counter Bane?+

Leomord, Benedetta and Helcurt are the first counters to consider. Lolita can deny projectiles and Yve controls space from farther away, forcing Bane into less comfortable angles.

04Which Bane skins can be obtained now?+

2 skins are marked as obtainable right now. 3 more are kept in the vault with the event or shop where each one originally appeared.
