SEASON 41 PROFILE

Chains of Sin

Phoveus

FighterEXP Lane

Phoveus turns enemy movement skills into opportunities to trigger Infernal Pursuit and land on the target. Dark Wave knocks up and drags, while Demonic Impact slows; against a dash-heavy team he can chain entries without chasing on foot.

EXP Lane
IN THE GAME SINCE
11 May 2021
  1. 01EARLY GAME

Poke with Demonic Impact and do not force Infernal Pursuit onto a target that can drag Phoveus under a turret. Dark Wave should cut off the escape rather than push enemies out of reach.

  2. 02MID GAME

Around Turtle, stand where Wanwan, Harith or Benedetta must dash to enter. Each ultimate trigger should move Phoveus toward his team unless the kill is guaranteed.

  3. 03LATE GAME

Late in the game, wait for the first dash and check the landing point before committing. X.Borg or Yve can prepare damage on that location.

  1. HOW IT WORKS

Phoveus' next Basic Attack lets him charge at the enemy, knock them back, deal extra Magic Damage equal to 4% of their Max HP, and gain a Shield equal to 8% of his Max HP. This effect has a 26–14 second cooldown, based on Infernal Pursuit's level. Astaros' Gaze: whenever an enemy hero blinks, dashes, or is displaced within 8 units of Phoveus, Demonic Force's cooldown is reduced by 20% and the cooldowns of his other skills are reduced by 0.5 seconds.

  2. HOW IT WORKS

Phoveus slams his monolith into the ground, dealing 200–500 Physical Damage to enemies in the area and slowing them by 70% for 0.5 seconds. If the skill hits an enemy, Phoveus' next Demonic Impact leaves behind an Astaros Eye. The eye implodes after a short delay and deals 100–250 Magic Damage to enemies.

  3. HOW IT WORKS

Phoveus drops the stone and releases his demonic power in the target direction, knocking enemies airborne, dragging them along, and dealing 250–500 Magic Damage.

  4. HOW IT WORKS

Sinner: Demonic Force, Astaros Eye, and Dark Wave can apply Sinner's Mark to the enemy hero hit. Judgement: Phoveus leaps into the air and smashes down with his monolith at the enemy hero with Sinner's Mark, dealing 250–500 plus extra Physical Damage equal to 5% of the target's Max HP to enemies in the area while Phoveus recovers 50 plus 6% of his Lost HP. The HP recovered is reduced by 80% when hitting multiple enemies.

Phoveus is a niche choice here. The result is worth watching, but a low pick rate means it should not be read in isolation.

QUICK ANSWERS

The questions players ask about Phoveus

01What is the best lane for Phoveus?+

Phoveus is currently played mainly in EXP Lane. The guide separates the recommended builds by lane or job, so choose that tab before copying the six items.

02Which Phoveus build should I use?+

Start with «EXP Sustain Default». The other options, «EXP Anti-Sustain Frontline» and «EXP Catch and Peel», are there for a different lane or match-up; they are not cosmetic variations.

03Which heroes counter Phoveus?+

X.Borg, Minsitthar and Sun are the first counters to consider. X.Borg damages him without stepping close, while Minsitthar controls the area where Phoveus intends to land.

04Which Phoveus skins can be obtained now?+

1 skin is marked as obtainable right now. 1 more is kept in the vault with the event or shop where each one originally appeared.
