SEASON 42 PROFILE

Astrologer

Esmeralda

Esmeralda absorbs shields through Frostmoon Shield and deals both physical and magic damage through Starmoon Casket. She can feel endless into shield-heavy teams, but careless entries are punished quickly by heroes such as Dyrroth or Karrie.

HOW TO PLAY

Esmeralda guide for Season 42

DAMAGE: Mixed
ATTACK: Melee
SPECIALTY: Regen / Mixed Damage
MAIN POSITIONS: EXP Lane
IN THE GAME SINCE: 3 April 2019

01EARLY GAME
Cast Frostmoon Shield before stepping in and hit the wave with Stardust Dance to reduce cooldowns. Do not charge Falling Starmoon in full view when opponents can interrupt it or walk away.
02MID GAME
Around Turtle, move through multiple shields and keep Stardust Dance active near the objective. If the enemy offers no shields, take shorter trades and wait for Frostmoon Shield to return.
03LATE GAME
Late in the game, Esmeralda does not have to reach the marksman at any cost. She can drain the front line, absorb protection and open a safer path for the rest of the team.

Esmeralda is struggling to convert games in this rank. That does not erase good matchups, but blind-picking the hero is difficult to justify right now.

QUICK ANSWERS

The questions players ask about Esmeralda

01What is the best lane for Esmeralda?

Esmeralda is currently played mainly in EXP Lane. The guide separates the recommended builds by lane or job, so choose that tab before copying the six items.

02Which Esmeralda build should I use?

Start with «EXP Sustain Frontline». The other options, «EXP Damage Bruiser» and «Jungle Tempo», are there for a different lane or match-up; they are not cosmetic variations.

03Which heroes counter Esmeralda?

Karrie, Estes and Alice are the first counters to consider. Dyrroth reduces her ability to stand in a fight, while Karrie punishes large health pools with repeated damage.

04Which Esmeralda skins can be obtained now?

3 non-default skins have confirmed availability at this review. 5 more are limited or upcoming, with the original acquisition method recorded. Check the current event or shop in your client before spending.
