SEASON 41 PROFILE

Phase Technician

Chip

SupportTankRoaming

Chip's passive, “Snack Time!”, restores his health out of combat. “Overtime” accelerates him, while “Shortcut” opens portals. His ultimate can gather the entire team into what looked like an isolated fight, but it can also invite everyone into a terrible position.

IN THE GAME SINCE
16 March 2024
  1. 01EARLY GAME

Leave combat long enough for “Snack Time!” to finish, then return with Overtime after checking bushes. Crash Course controls at close range, so a teammate must be ready.

  2. 02MID GAME

Before Turtle, signal where Shortcut will arrive and place it on a target the team can attack. A portal does not force anyone to use it.

  3. 03LATE GAME

Late in the game, prepare routes between lanes and Lord. Against Carmilla or Faramis, avoid gathering all five allies where their ultimates gain maximum value.

Abilities at a glance

  1. HOW IT WORKS

Chip starts eating potato chips once every 2 seconds when out of combat, regenerating HP equal to 300 plus 45% of lost HP after finishing a whole bag (requires 4 bites). After eating a bag of chips, Chip will be full and cannot eat again for 5 seconds. (The bite count will be saved if he enters combat before finishing a whole bag)

  2. HOW IT WORKS

Chip rams his hovercraft into the ground, dealing Magic Damage equal to 100–200 plus 4% of the target's Max HP and applying Chip's Mark on enemy units hit. Chip gains a Shield upon hitting an enemy hero, which increases by 40% for each additional enemy hero hit. Chip's next Basic Attack will become ranged and also hit all nearby enemies with Chip's Mark, detonating the mark to deal 150–275 Magic Damage and stun each target for 0.6 seconds.

  3. HOW IT WORKS

Chip rushes for 2 seconds, gaining up to 65% extra Movement Speed, after which he maintains the max speed for 2 seconds. Chip's next Basic Attack will cause him to charge at the enemy, dealing 200–300 Magic Damage and knocking them back slightly.

  4. HOW IT WORKS

Four Beacons appear on the map when the match begins. Chip can use this skill outside combat to teleport from one Beacon to another.

  5. HOW IT WORKS

Chip drops the Main Portal on an enemy hero, dealing 200–300 Magic Damage and briefly slowing them by 25%. After a delay, the portal deals double damage and immobilizes the target for 1 second. Connecting Portals appear near allied heroes within 10 units and behind the allied base. Both portal types last up to 15 seconds. Heroes from either team can travel from a Connecting Portal to the Main Portal; allies gain a burst of Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds and a 500–1000 shield. The Main Portal inherits 70% of Chip's attributes. Standing on it for 2 seconds returns a hero to the Connecting Portal they used; casting a skill or Basic Attack resets this timer.

Chip is a niche choice here. The result is worth watching, but a low pick rate means it should not be read in isolation.
