The autochess from the Mobile Legends team is feeling itself. MOONTON has launched Magic Chess: Go Go Season 7 today, christened 'Chrono Echoes', and the idea is a full-blown festival, the board turned into a stage, a crowd waving lightsticks and a theme song playing over every match. Under the spectacle there's real substance, because Alpha arrives as the first 7-Gold hero in the game's history.
Alpha crowns a tower of four new Synergies
The star is SPECTRE, the Synergy you climb by combining its 2-star heroes (Phoveus, Granger, Saber, Paquito, Gord and Alice) until you unlock Alpha, a 7-Gold finisher that didn't exist until today. It's joined by Echomancer, which plays the nostalgia card with a twist: it summons a 5-cost hero from past seasons, like X.Borg, Moskov or Gatotkaca, to fight at your side while energy builds up beside the board.
The other two are about atmosphere and economy. Starbelle hands out a Lightstick that turns one hero into the band's fan, with shared bonuses and the board morphing into a concert once the full Synergy activates. Mistbender has you earning Spirit Sand with every skill cast to spend in its own shop. And for the veterans, Dragon Altar and Shadeweaver return, the favourites from Seasons 1 and 2. Gao 'Skyhook' Chong, the game's producer, sums it up: 'we want players to feel at home when they return, but still have plenty to discover'.
Franco arrives on August 21, with three more behind him
The season also refreshes the Commander bench. First up is Franco, arriving on August 21 with his trusty Iron Hook: he throws it at a random enemy to steal Loot, and if you upgrade him mid-match he can reel in a 5-Gold hero outright. Lylia and Brody follow in September, with Lukas in October.
The hook even earns its own event. From August 21 to September 20, Stellar Resonance has you fishing for treasures lost across a sea of stars to scoop up new collectibles, in the purest Franco style.
The Starbeat Stage and an unforgettable theme song
The bow on the package is the 'Starbeat Stage' Magical Chessboard, with spotlights, stands and unlockable board companions, plus the main theme 'Stellar Voice', which MOONTON has published with full fanfare. Here it is:
