For quick couch matches with friends
It doesn't all have to be cutthroat competition. Sometimes you just want a laugh, and there are gems for that. Brawl Stars, from Supercell, is the essence of fast multiplayer, three-minute fights that hook you one after another and work just as well solo as in a group. Clash Royale, from the same house, mixes cards and strategy in ultra-short duels that stick to your hands.
And for laughs with the group, two instant classics. Among Us turned lying to your friends into a global phenomenon and is still the best way to argue with your crew, and Stumble Guys is the shameless heir to Fall Guys on mobile, pure chaos with sixty players tripping toward the finish line. Adventure and co-op role-playing
If you'd rather explore and grow your character than compete, mobile has that too. Genshin Impact is the great benchmark, a huge, gorgeous, free action RPG you can roam in co-op with friends, and it nails the magic of a phone running something this big. It's the kind of game that surprises anyone who thinks the phone only holds minigames.
