SEASON 42 PROFILE

Cursed Needle

Melissa

MarksmanGold Lane

Melissa uses “Eyes on You!” to link enemies to Muddles, allowing her attacks to travel through the doll and hit them. “Go Away!” creates a barrier that rejects entries, making her particularly difficult for melee assassins to reach.

IN THE GAME SINCE
22 February 2022
  1. 01EARLY GAME

Throw Muddles where it can link the opponent while remaining inside the wave. Falling! grants attack speed and movement, so preserve a safe escape direction.

  2. 02MID GAME

Around Turtle, place Go Away! between Melissa and the enemy entrance before activating Inspire. The barrier protects against entry but does not stop damage arriving from outside.

  3. 03LATE GAME

Late in the game, attack through Muddles rather than walking toward the linked target. Vale or Belerick can answer from range or punish excessive attacking.

  1. HOW IT WORKS

Melissa deals 125% damage to Minions, Creeps, and summoned units.

  2. HOW IT WORKS

Melissa dashes forward and increases her Attack Speed for 2.5 seconds. Each time an attack on Muddles damages an enemy, this skill's cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds.

  3. HOW IT WORKS

Melissa throws Muddles, dealing 250–400 Physical Damage on the first hit and linking nearby enemy heroes and summoned units for up to 6 seconds. Linked targets are slowed by 60%; the slow decays over 1.5 seconds, and the link breaks if they leave its range. Muddles returns early if Melissa moves too far away. While it is active, Melissa can use the Attack Minion button to strike Muddles and transfer damage to linked targets, but that hit cannot trigger multiple-hit effects. Muddles transfers 52% of Basic Attack damage and inherits 52% of Attack Effects.

  4. HOW IT WORKS

Melissa creates a dome for 4 seconds that repels nearby enemies and deals 500–900 Magic Damage. Enemies trying to enter are repeatedly knocked back, take 50–90 Magic Damage, and are briefly slowed by 60%. The field interrupts movement skills unless the enemy is immune to control, and it can reposition once if Melissa is about to leave it. Passive: Melissa gains 3 Physical and Magic Defense; this effect is multiplied by five while the skill is active.
