Epic Games Store weekly free games
Epic gives away one or more PC games every week through its free games page, and the offer rolls over on Thursdays at 11 a.m. ET in November. Anything you claim stays in your library after the promotion ends, according to the Epic Games Store FAQ, so there is no need to download it right away.
Sorry We're Closed is free until Thursday, November 5, at 11 a.m. ET. It is a fixed-camera survival horror game from à la mode games in the mold of the genre's classics. Michelle, the lead, uses a Third Eye to see between the human and demon worlds, which lets her uncover secrets and solve puzzles, while combat plays out as arcade-style shooting.
Flotsam is free from November 5 to November 12, both at 11 a.m. ET. Pajama Llama Games' city builder puts your town on rafts in an ocean full of garbage. You sail out to salvage useful junk and rescue survivors, then put both to work so the settlement can grow.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is part of the same November 5 to 12 promotion. Codename Entertainment's Dungeons & Dragons strategy game has you assemble famous characters from the franchise, line them up in formation and upgrade the party while they fight on their own. The base game is already free to play, so check its store page once the promotion starts to see what extra content is included.
Epic hasn't revealed the free games for November 12 to 19 yet. It usually lists the following week's games on its free games page as soon as the current offer rolls over.

PS Plus Essential November games
Every PS Plus member, Essential tier included, can add Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered and Monster Train 2 to their library from Tuesday, November 3, through Monday, November 30, the PlayStation Blog confirmed. Platforms for each game, October's titles that expire on November 2 and the eleven games leaving Extra and Premium on November 17 are covered in our PS Plus November guide.
November's Extra and Premium catalog has not been announced yet. In October, Sony revealed the lineup on Wednesday the 14th and added the games on Tuesday the 20th, as we reported in our October PS Plus catalog story. If Sony keeps that rhythm, November's list would arrive around Wednesday, November 11, with the games landing on Tuesday, November 17, the same day GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 leave.
Game Pass additions for early November
So far Xbox has confirmed a single November addition. Pit of Goblin joins Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass on Tuesday, November 3, on Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud, according to Xbox Wire. It is an online co-op horror game where you play a scrappy goblin raiding dungeons, dodging traps and running from monsters to feed the Goblin King-Queen. Come back without enough food and you may end up on the menu.
Also on November 3, members on any tier, Essential included, can pick up Modern Armor XP Stock, an experience bundle for World of Tanks. Football Manager 26 leaves on Tuesday, November 10, in both its PC and console versions. The games leaving on Saturday, October 31, and their member discounts are listed in our Game Pass departures guide.
This weekend's Free Play Days, which run from October 29 to November 1, let Game Pass Essential, Premium and Ultimate members try WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, Darkwood, Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 in full. Dead by Daylight is free on Xbox consoles without a subscription through November 2, Xbox Wire says. Buy one afterward and you keep your progress and achievements.
Xbox hasn't posted its first November wave yet. In October, Xbox posted its first list on Wednesday the 7th and its second on Tuesday the 20th, so the next one should land in the first days of the month.

Amazon Prime and Luna in November
Prime covers two separate things. Luna, Amazon's cloud gaming service, streams an included library you can play without buying or downloading anything, on the web, phones, supported smart TVs and inside Prime Video on Fire TV, as we explain in how to play Amazon Luna. Amazon put that library at more than 80 games in its October update.
Separately, Amazon hands out PC games every month that Prime members claim and keep, redeemed through the Epic Games Store, GOG, the Amazon Games app or codes. The Luna FAQ says these are available wherever Prime is, even where Luna streaming is not. October had ten of them, released on Thursdays from DOOM to Kiborg, and the announcement set no claim deadline.
Amazon hasn't posted Prime's November lineup yet. It published September's list on the 10th and October's on the 6th, and its own Luna FAQ tells members to check back early each month.
GOG giveaways
GOG had no giveaway running on its homepage on October 30. Its giveaways have no fixed schedule. They appear on the front page with a countdown, last a few days and leave a DRM-free game in your library, with installers that do not need a connection. In the last one we covered, Bounty Train, clicking the claim button also opted you in to GOG marketing, so read the fine print before you click.
GOG hasn't announced a November giveaway. Some Prime games are also redeemed as GOG codes, as DOOM was in October.
Steam free weekends
Steam runs two kinds of free promotion, and only one lets you keep the game. A free weekend gives you the full game for about four days. The Steamworks documentation says they typically run from Thursday at 10 a.m. PT to Monday at 10 a.m. PT. Afterward the game stays in your library, but you can only uninstall it or buy it.
The other is a free-to-keep giveaway. For at least 24 hours the store page swaps the paid package for a free one, and the license stays on your account for good, according to Steamworks' guide to these offers. Steam does not collect them in any section or notify wishlisters, so you only see them on each game's page.
Steam's November free weekends and giveaways have not been announced yet. Valve does not publish a calendar. Each studio books its slot at least a month ahead, and the offer only shows up on the game's page once it begins.
Which free games you keep
Not every freebie on this list works the same way, and the difference tells you when to hurry:
- Yours for good: games claimed on Epic, GOG giveaways, Prime games redeemed on Epic or GOG, and Steam's free-to-keep offers. Claim them before the deadline and they stay on your account.
- Yours while you subscribe: PS Plus monthly games. They lock if you cancel and come back if you resubscribe, as we explain in which PS Plus games you keep.
- Playable only while they are in the service: the Game Pass and Luna catalogs, Xbox Free Play Days and Steam free weekends.
