Mobile Legends Season 42, Starward Decade, is on track to end on Wednesday, December 16, 2026. MLBBHub's season tracker, which matched the date against the in-game Ranked countdown, puts the changeover at 08:00 UTC. That is 3:00 a.m. Eastern and midnight Pacific in the US, 8:00 a.m. in London and 4:00 p.m. in Manila.
MOONTON has not announced the date anywhere, so treat it as a well-supported estimate rather than an official schedule. Season 42 started on September 16, and a December 16 finish would give it 91 days, the same length as Season 41 according to GGSeason.
Ranked also shuts down before the season itself ends. At the last changeover, the Patch 2.2.16 notes closed Season 41 at 21:59:59 on September 15 and opened Season 42 at 00:00 on September 16, both in server time. If MOONTON repeats that pattern and server midnight again falls at 08:00 UTC, Ranked would close at around 06:00 UTC on December 16. That is 10:00 p.m. Pacific on December 15, or 1:00 a.m. Eastern on the 16th.
How to check the end date in the game
The game itself has the final say. The Ranked screen shows how long the season has left, but only in whole days, and MLBBHub notes that the counter rounds down. When it reads "1 day", you have somewhere between 24 and 48 hours.
The official time should appear in the patch notes MOONTON publishes to open Season 43, just as Patch 2.2.16 did at the last changeover.
When Season 43 starts
Season 43 should begin on December 16 as soon as the changeover maintenance ends. MLBBHub expects one to three hours of downtime, though the real length varies. MOONTON has not yet revealed the new season's name, theme or start date.
If Season 43 also runs 91 days, it would end around March 17, 2027. That is another MLBBHub projection, based on the average length of recent seasons. GGSeason lists Seasons 39, 40 and 41 at 84, 98 and 91 days, so the real end date could shift by about a week either way.
Where the Season 42 rank reset drops you
The reset drops you one or more divisions depending on the rank you finish on, but it never sends you back to Warrior. The game applies the change the first time you log in to the new season. For the full rank order and how many stars each division needs, see our guide to Mobile Legends ranks. This is the table MLBBHub publishes for the move from Season 42 to Season 43:
- Warrior and Elite: you stay in the same rank with 0 stars.
- Master IV and III: Elite I.
- Master II and I: Elite II.
- Grandmaster V: Master I.
- Grandmaster IV: Master II.
- Grandmaster III, II and I: Grandmaster V, IV and III respectively.
- Epic V: Grandmaster II.
- Epic IV: Grandmaster I.
- Epic III and II: Epic V.
- Epic I and Legend V: Epic IV.
- Legend IV through I: Epic III.
- Mythic (0 to 24 stars): Epic II.
- Mythical Honor (25 to 49 stars): Epic I.
- Mythical Glory and Mythical Immortal (50 stars or more): Legend V.

How much of the table you can trust
MOONTON does not publish a reset table. MLBBHub says it verified this one at the Season 40 to Season 41 reset but could not confirm it at the last one. Timesaver carries the same table and notes that some Mythic players report different results.
Two rows also look wrong. Master II and I drop to Elite II, one division below the Elite I that Master IV and III receive, and Grandmaster IV ends up in Master II, below the Master I that Grandmaster V gets. Finishing higher should not mean starting lower, so these may be transcription errors. For those tiers, go by the reset notice the game shows you.
From Epic upward, the table has no such inconsistencies and matches the one in our rank guide.
Season-end rewards and when they arrive
The headline reward is the season skin. The Patch 2.2.16 notes name Season 42's as "Flamehide Thane" for Popol and Kupa, along with the "Starward Decade" avatar border, and tie both to completing Ranked matches. The notes do not give a number. GGSeason and Timesaver put it at 20, the requirement MOONTON introduced in Season 27 when it dropped the old Master-rank condition, as GamingonPhone reported.
You do not have to win those matches, but MLBBHub says games where you go AFK or disconnect do not count. Anything you play after the reset counts toward Season 43, so the 20 matches for the Popol and Kupa skin have to be done before Ranked closes on December 16 (the night of the 15th in the US). Your progress is listed under the rewards section of the Ranked screen.
Everything else arrives with the new season. Community guides agree that Battle Points, the free currency used to buy heroes, and tickets, a second currency spent in the shop, are based on the highest rank you reached during the season, not the rank you finish on. Warrior and Elite players also get Premium Skin Fragments, and anyone who reached Mythic receives a Mythic emote for 30 days. MOONTON does not spell these out in the patch notes, so check the in-game reward list before relying on them.
The 2.2.16 notes also preview a change that carries into Season 43. Style Plates, Namecards and Honor Badges, the cosmetic items earned from Season 42's Season Achievements, will stay equippable for all of Season 43.
What to do before December 16
From Epic upward, MLBBHub's table sends several divisions to the same place. Legend IV, III, II and I, for example, all drop to Epic III. Climbing within one of those groups does not change where you start Season 43. What matters is the next promotion that takes you out of your group, and that depends on where you are now:
- Epic V: reaching Epic IV restarts you at Grandmaster I instead of Grandmaster II.
- Epic IV: reaching Epic III restarts you at Epic V instead of Grandmaster I, so you open Season 43 already in Epic, where Ranked uses bans and a turn-based draft.
- Epic III or II: reaching Epic I gets you Epic IV instead of Epic V.
- Epic I or Legend V: reaching Legend IV gets you Epic III instead of Epic IV.
- Legend IV through I: reaching Mythic gets you Epic II instead of Epic III.
- Mythic under 25 stars: reaching 25 stars, which is Mythical Honor, gets you Epic I instead of Epic II.
- Mythical Honor: reaching 50 stars, which is Mythical Glory, gets you Legend V instead of Epic I.

Before your last Ranked games
There is no further step above 50 stars. Mythical Glory at 50 stars and Mythical Immortal at 150 both return to Legend V, so the extra stars help your leaderboard position and this season's rewards but do not shorten next season's climb.
The reset follows your finishing rank, while rewards, according to community guides, follow your peak. If you sit just above a threshold, a bad run on the last day will not lower your Battle Points, which are worked out from your best rank, but it can cost you a step at the start of Season 43. Once you have crossed the line you wanted and have only a few stars of cushion, more Ranked games in those final days put that step at risk for little in return.
If you still need matches for the skin or one more promotion, do not leave it for the final hours. On last season's pattern, Ranked would close at around 06:00 UTC on December 16, which for US players means the night of December 15.
For the climb itself, our guide on how to rank up fast in Mobile Legends covers what to change in your play, and the Season 42 tier list, updated October 28, shows which heroes are performing now. The live tier list keeps the numbers current.
