Star Wars Galactic Racer launches October 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Fuse Games puts Shade at the center of a racing campaign built around routes, upgrades and repeated attempts. Lucasfilm’s announcement confirms the date and describes a competition where driving skill matters more than Force powers.
The campaign is structured in three acts. Choosing a route and fitting upgrades changes the next races, including how hard you can push a vehicle before its engine overheats.
A failed run keeps your credits
Xbox Wire’s hands-on report explains that your League Entry Token can be revoked after too many crashes or a finish outside the top three. The credits you earned remain available, but you return to qualifying before starting another attempt. Losing a run therefore does not erase every resource you collected. That retained progress is the distinction explained in our roguelike and roguelite guide.
Upgrades change boost behavior rather than merely adding a higher number. Afterburner affects recharge, while Ramjet increases power with a greater overheating risk. Those details come from Xbox Wire’s preview, not a driving test by INSERT FUTURE.

Different machines for different routes
Landspeeders, speeder bikes and skimspeeders have distinct handling demands. Announced locations include Jakku’s Star Destroyer graveyard and the frozen terrain of Ando Prime. Familiar Star Wars vehicles appear within a new racing competition.
On PC, Steam lists 50 GB of available storage and requires an SSD. The minimum specifies a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB of RAM and an RTX 2060, Arc A580 or 6 GB Radeon RX 5600 XT. Our TLC and QLC SSD comparison explains the storage options if you need an upgrade.
