Standard digital preorders qualify
DMZ will open on October 20, 2026, three days before Modern Warfare 4’s October 23 launch. Activision’s announcement makes early access a benefit of digital preorders or digital prepurchases, including both Standard and Vault editions.
The listed platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. Upgrading to Vault solely to get early DMZ access is unnecessary. The stated offer concerns digital copies, so a physical preorder should not be assumed to include the same benefit.

Campaign access starts four days earlier
Campaign early access begins October 16. DMZ follows on October 20, with the full release and general multiplayer launch on October 23. The separate dates describe separate parts of the game.
DMZ’s loop sends players into Hajin to acquire gear and extract with what they can carry. The Forward Operating Base handles preparation between deployments, including missions, stored equipment and upgradeable stations. A 3D Printer station crafts supplies for subsequent runs.

Check the offer on your chosen platform
Before preordering, confirm that your platform’s listing includes the DMZ benefit. Activision notes that time zones, availability and possible outages can affect access. October 20 is an announced date, rather than a promise of simultaneous midnight access everywhere.
If playing with friends shapes your platform choice, remember that crossplay and shared progression are different features. Matching early-access dates alone do not establish how players or saves move between versions.
