A new look on August 27 that premieres on Netflix (yes, Netflix)
So here's what we'd waited months for, though not exactly the way we pictured it. Rockstar has confirmed that on August 27 it will show an extended look —their words— at Grand Theft Auto VI, and it's premiering it in the last place you'd hunt for a video-game trailer: *Netflix*. The platform gets it first, at 3 PM US Eastern time, which is nine in the evening on the 27th in Spain.
And those of us who don't fancy opening Netflix at that hour? Relax: a few hours later, at 9 PM Eastern —three in the morning on the 28th in Spain—, the same video lands for free on Rockstar's YouTube channel. So there are two appointments and two ways to watch, depending on how long you can stay awake.
A trailer or a «look»? Mind the wording
Worth pausing here for a second, because half the internet is already calling it «Trailer 3» and Rockstar, very much in character, hasn't said that word once. Theirs is an extended look, and the distinction isn't a whim: it could be a cinematic trailer like the previous two, or it could be something longer with actual gameplay footage. The studio gives nothing away, and that ambiguity is part of the trick.
What really stands out is the shop window. That the planet's most anticipated game premieres on Netflix first, rather than on the usual channels, smells of a big deal between Rockstar and a platform that's long been trying to break into gaming. Either way, what matters to us is that there's new material on the horizon after a silence that was starting to feel eternal.
What it means for the November 19 launch
The other big piece of news is what hasn't changed: the release stays nailed to *November 19, 2026*, so this look arrives less than three months out, right when it's time to warm up the engines. My bet is that on the 27th we'll finally see real gameplay and not just another cinematic cut: at this point Rockstar needs to show how it plays, not only how it looks.
