Rockstar's GTA 6 launch gallery has 39 new screenshots, from a bank job to the Leonida Keys

Rockstar posted the new batch on November 5, two weeks before launch. Twenty shots follow Jason and Lucia, 15 roam Vice City and only four head out to the Grassrivers swamps, Port Gellhorn and the Leonida Keys.

Rockstar Games opened the Grand Theft Auto VI launch gallery on its official site on Thursday, November 5, with 39 new screenshots. The game is two weeks away, as Rockstar pointed out in the Newswire post announcing the gallery. It comes out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, and the gallery lands five days before pre-loading opens on November 10, letting players download the game ahead of time so they can start the moment it unlocks.

Of the 39 shots, 20 focus on the two leads: nine on Jason Duval, four on Lucia Caminos and seven on the pair together. Another 15 are set in Vice City. Only four leave the city for the rest of Leonida, the fictional state modeled on Florida where the game takes place. Two of those are in the Grassrivers swamps, one is in Port Gellhorn and one is in the Leonida Keys, the state's island chain.

Heists, police and a bench press

The shots of the two leads stick close to the trailers. Jason and Lucia hold up a bank branch with their faces covered and duffel bags ready for the cash. In another image, police surround a waterfront house, with cars on the bridge, boats in the canal and a helicopter hanging over a yacht. Lucia gets several close-ups with a handgun raised.

Some scenes are calmer. Jason works through a set on a weight bench, and the pair drive through Vice City at night in a convertible lit pink and blue, the image Rockstar picked to front the gallery. None of the screenshots says which mission it comes from, so they show places and situations rather than the order of the story or how those robberies actually play.

Vice City after dark

A good share of the city shots are taken at night. There is a packed club with mirror balls and plants hanging from the ceiling, a gas station glowing with neon, and a run of street portraits, including a man posing with his pit bull and a tattooed man holding a submachine gun while someone braids his hair.

Out in the swamps and under the sea

The four shots from outside Vice City are the most unusual. In the Leonida Keys image, a diver with a flashlight swims among lionfish and sea plants while a boat sits on the surface. In one of the two Grassrivers frames, an airboat, the flat-bottomed boat pushed by an aircraft-style propeller, cuts through the mangroves at night as an alligator's eye glows in the water.

Back in September, Rockstar talked up hurricanes and more than 170 animal species across Leonida. The lionfish and the alligator are two of those animals, shown in their habitat.

What's left before November 19

Pre-loading opens at midnight local time on November 10 on PS5. On Xbox it starts at 7 p.m. ET on November 9, and Rockstar says to clear up to 212GB. The gallery post signs off with "See you in Leonida on November 19" but gives no launch time.

There is still no official date for reviews either. Two leakers say the review embargo lifts on November 18, which would let outlets publish their verdicts the day before launch. Rockstar has not confirmed that date.
