Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch, with Konami dating its launch to October 15. A first-chapter demo allows progress to carry over to the full game. Konami has also acknowledged specific PC startup failures and Steam Deck interface problems.

A whip built for movement as well as combat

Evil Empire develops the game with Konami and advisory support from Motion Twin. Trevor Belmont’s daughter Rose explores monster-infested Paris in 1499, using her whip to attack, swing and reach points in the environment.

Defeated bosses are tied to the Arcana card system, providing spells and special actions. Seven weapon categories and relics support different equipment choices. These are Konami’s described features, rather than findings from our own review.

What the demo save transfer requires

The official demo covers the opening chapter on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Nintendo Switch. Carrying progress over requires the same platform and account, retained demo save data and an updated full game.

This transfers a demo save to the full game on the same platform. Konami does not announce transfers between Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. Our cross-save and shared-progression explainer distinguishes those cross-platform features from this requirement.

Konami’s PC workaround and other known issues

The October 14 known-issues notice says the Steam and Xbox on PC versions may fail to launch with V-Sync disabled and an unlimited frame-rate setting. Konami’s workaround is to temporarily lower Windows’ refresh rate below 60Hz, launch the game, enable V-Sync, close it and restore the original refresh rate.

V-Sync synchronizes frame presentation with the display. This is Konami’s temporary workaround for that specific fault. Our Windows 11 refresh-rate guide shows where to change the setting. If your display offers no mode compatible with the procedure, contact game support.

Konami is also investigating partially off-screen interface elements on Steam Deck. A separate title-screen block with certain system languages, mainly Arabic, affects PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Xbox on PC. For that issue it recommends switching the system language to a supported option such as English. The notice says a patch is in development without giving a release date.
