GTA 6 has acquired another alleged 60 FPS mode on PS5 Pro. This claim comes with a far more expensive instruction than the number itself: “Buy a PS5 Pro now,” HipHopGamer wrote on X. In the US, that means staking $899 on a promise Rockstar has never made.
A screenshot sent by a reader shows how far the line has travelled. Valuetainment repackaged it as “new leaks” for more than half a million views, yet no second source or technical document appeared along the way. The gap between the original post and the giant headline matters more than the word leak.
One previous hit
HipHopGamer deserves more than automatic ridicule. Weeks before the Extended Look, he described a more involved switch between Jason and Lucia, deeper interactions inside vehicles and a multi-step approach to stealing cars. Vice compared those earlier claims with Rockstar's 27-minute presentation, and several match what eventually appeared on screen.
That record gives the messenger some credibility; it does not prove he has Rockstar's final performance targets. Knowing that Jason takes longer to steal a car does not magically reveal an internal PS5 Pro frame-rate table. He may know one part and be inferring the other.
The new post also omits resolution, graphics mode, ray-tracing quality and test conditions. A game can reach 60 FPS by cutting detail, density or internal resolution. It can also favour 30 FPS for a cleaner image. Advertising only “60” is like quoting a car's top speed without showing the road.

What has actually been confirmed
GTA 6's US PlayStation Store page now carries the official PS5 Pro Enhanced label, consistent with Rockstar's “Plays Best on PlayStation 5” messaging. That confirms dedicated work for the console. It does not describe the result.
Rockstar has not announced graphics modes, resolutions or frame rates for either PS5. The closest reference comes from Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson, who reportedly said during July preview sessions that 30 FPS is the current console target. Asked about 60 FPS, Nelson said he would need to consult the technical team. He did not rule out a Pro mode either.
The internet is joining three separate pieces into one convenient claim: the game is enhanced for PS5 Pro, Rockstar currently targets 30 FPS on console, and HipHopGamer says the Pro version will reach 60. The first is documented, the second came from a preview conversation, and the third remains a rumour.
Rubius also saw GTA 6 running on a standard PS5 and described it as smooth despite not running at 60 FPS. That is encouraging, but an impression cannot count frames or predict the PS5 Pro build.
A $899 purchase
PS5 Pro costs $899 through PlayStation Direct in the US and does not include a disc drive. For an existing PS5 owner, buying one today is less like choosing a console and more like paying $899 for an empty GTA 6 menu option. Our PS5 Pro buying guide for GTA 6 recommended waiting before this rumour, and nothing here changes that advice.
Wait for Rockstar to publish the modes or for a technical analysis to measure the final build. Stable 60 FPS would create a clear benefit to price. A 40 FPS mode, richer 30 FPS presentation or heavily cut 60 FPS option would be a different decision—one made with evidence on screen rather than trust in a post.
