Gears of War: E-Day reaches its general release on October 6, opening access on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members join at launch. Xbox’s published schedule sets the worldwide opening at 8 a.m. Pacific, or 11 a.m. Eastern.
Premium Edition owners have been playing since October 1. The wider launch includes the campaign, cooperative Horde Siege and Versus, but ranked multiplayer has a separate start date.
A week to learn before ranked play
Versus Ranked begins October 13, according to The Coalition’s launch briefing. The studio wants players to learn the maps, modes and combat rules before entering ranked competition. Launch-day Versus gives newcomers that preparation time.
Weekly challenges also share a single schedule. The challenges Premium owners received on October 1 are the same ones general-release players receive October 6, with the next refresh on October 13.

Emergence runs through December 1
Season 1, Emergence, began in early access and ends December 1. It includes Halloween, 20 Years of Gears and Thanksgibbing events, each bringing a Versus event mode, a Horde Siege mission and rewards. The studio will share their individual start dates closer to each event.
At least five post-launch seasons are planned. Season 2 is called Legacy and celebrates the series’ anniversary. That establishes a longer multiplayer roadmap without confirming every future addition or release date.
