Fortnite gives away 40,000 XP and six Sprites: all 21 working Override codes

A 23 August check of every lobby admin-panel code, its reward and the extra step needed to unlock the Cheat Master Bush Sprite.

There is an ".../ admin panel" button sitting in plain sight in Fortnite's lobby, and it is hiding a surprisingly large pile of free stuff: 40,000 XP, six Cheat Master Sprites, 10,000 Sprite Dust, two loading screens and eleven consumables. Not one V-Buck required.

We cross-checked the lists that appeared after launch against the current game. As of 23 August 2026, there are 20 codes you can enter immediately plus one tied to a story quest; that makes 21 in total, none requires a redemption website, an extra account link or a download, and everything happens inside a Battle Royale lobby.

One warning before the wall of codes: almost every reward can be claimed once per account. The two Tetris transformations are the exception. They are repeatable because the effect only lasts a few seconds in the lobby.

All 21 Fortnite Override codes and rewards

The list is grouped by reward rather than release date, so you can grab the useful stuff first. Codes are not case-sensitive, but every character still matters. In `H0P0NVC`, both round characters are zeroes; in `O2OVERRIDE`, the first character is the letter O and the next one is the number 2.

Nintendo Life guides editor Matthew Reynolds also found that the panel is not case-sensitive, although every password still needs the correct spelling.

Rubén Martínez, a writer at MeriStation, collected 17 codes on the 21st; PCGamesN guides editor Tom Hopkins expanded the list to 20 hours later, and number 21 is `GATHERANDCRAFT`, which stays locked until Wrixel's story has progressed far enough, a condition that explains why so many round-ups lose it along the way.

  • `GOTTAGOFAST` — Cheat Master Sonic Sprite, which increases sprint speed; `IWANNAFLYHIGH` — Cheat Master Tails Sprite, which lets you hover.
  • `8BITBLAST` — Cheat Master 8-Bit Sprite, putting an 8-Bit Shotgun in your first chest; `BORN2PLAY` — Cheat Master Adventure Sprite, upgrading a random inventory item with each level.
  • `PLAY4ALL` — Cheat Master Jonesy Sprite, restoring health or shield after you take damage; `GATHERANDCRAFT` — Cheat Master Bush Sprite, available after the Wrixel story quest detailed below.
  • `OVERRIDEXP` — 40,000 XP applied straight to your account; `H0P0NVC`, `MAGILUME`, `CHISPAMBO`, `ABGESTAUBT` and `PERLIMPINPIN` — each code grants 2,000 Sprite Dust, for 10,000 total, and both round characters in `H0P0NVC` are zeroes.
  • `O2OVERRIDE` — one Llama Supply Drop and five Portable Extractors; `PERFECTORDER` — four Spicy Tacos, healing you and boosting speed and stamina.
  • `SURVIVETHENIGHT` and `FINDITCHAT` — each grants two Cheat Code Locators, four if you enter both; `TAKEYOURHEART` — two Extraction Accelerators.
  • `BEMOREALIEN` and `REACHYOURIMPOSSIBLE` — unlock the Override Ready and Block Party loading screens; `LETSBLOCKANDROLL` and `DONTBLOCKME` — temporarily turn your lobby character into a Tetris block and are the only reusable codes.

How to redeem codes — and not confuse them with island cheats

Do not head to `epicgames.com/redeem`, because these are not store keys. The panel lives inside Fortnite and appears on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC and mobile, though the hold button changes with your controller; the exact route is laid out below.

Fortnite uses two very similar names for different systems. Lobby Hacks are text codes entered before a match and their rewards attach to your account. Cheat Codes are objects found at points around the island. You solve those during a match to receive a Sprite for that run.

But the lobby panel does not grant real admin permissions or let you kick players. The label is part of the season's fiction. If a site asks for your Epic password, a download or payment to unlock a more powerful panel, close it. Nothing on this list happens outside the official client.

Other games handle redemption differently. Mobile Legends uses an external page and caps some codes by total claims. Fortnite puts this panel in the lobby and has not published a redemption cap for these 21.

  • Launch Fortnite and enter the main Battle Royale or Zero Build lobby. You do not need to start a match.
  • Look in the upper-right corner for the ".../ admin panel" prompt.
  • Hold the displayed button until the password field opens.
  • Type one code from the list and press Submit.
  • Once "Lobby Hack Activated!" appears, claim the reward. XP is added automatically and cosmetics go to your locker.

The six Sprites are the rewards worth claiming first

If you are short on time, I would start with the six Sprite codes, because I do not buy the idea that these are merely decorative pets when their Cheat Master variants enter island Cheat Codes instantly and each brings a perk. Sonic sprints faster, Tails can hover, 8-Bit puts a special shotgun in your first chest, Adventure upgrades one item whenever you level up, and Jonesy restores health or shield after you take damage.

That makes `GOTTAGOFAST` and `IWANNAFLYHIGH` more than crossover souvenirs. Epic's season announcement lays out an Override season built around rewriting match rules with consoles, Override Cartridges and Sprites. These rewards feed straight into that system.

But the sixth, Cheat Master Bush, is missing from plenty of code lists because the panel rejects accounts that have not cleared its quest. The code has not expired. It is gated.

Before `GATHERANDCRAFT` becomes valid, you need to reach the final step of Wrixel (Ziggy): Get Crafty in the Story quests. The chain sends you out for materials, asks you to combine them and ends with building the anvil at Pixel Polys. Return to the lobby afterwards, open the panel and enter the code to receive the Cheat Master Bush Sprite.

There is a real issue here, though, and Epic has acknowledged it. Its support page says the task to enter `GatherAndCraft` may fail to register. Progress can remain stuck at 8/9 even after every quest is complete. Epic says a future game update will fix it.

If the Sprite arrives but the quest remains stuck, do not keep submitting the code: the redemption worked and the tracker did not. If the panel says the hack is unavailable and you have not built the anvil, the prerequisite is what you are missing.

Sonic, Tails and a season built like an old controller

Override is Fortnite in love with videogames. Sonic headlines the Battle Pass, Tails is a Sidekick and Green Hill Zone sits on the map. Mega Man lends out the Mega Buster and Tetris drops blocks from the sky. Kingdom Hearts, Pac-Man, Persona 5 Royal, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Rebecca's Guns from Cyberpunk are due later. If that last one woke something up, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 already has a date, a cast and one faceless mystery.

The Pass and shop still lean on the scarcity loop we examined in why gacha systems and limited rewards hook players, but these codes sit outside it. No V-Bucks and no Pass purchase. Sonic and Tails are the visible stars. The free haul lives behind that small button in the corner.

Epic has not given individual Lobby Hacks an expiry date. We checked this list at 3:30pm CEST on 23 August, and we will revise it when a new code appears or an old one stops working. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it stays at 21 with so many crossovers still to come. Until then, the two not to leave for tomorrow are `OVERRIDEXP`, because 40,000 XP takes ten seconds, and `GOTTAGOFAST`, because a season called Override is better when you are moving faster than intended.
