Fortnite Crew gets a new reward structure on Saturday, Dec. 5. The subscription will stop handing out an exclusive outfit every month, with December's Crew Pack as the last one, and it loses the OG Pass. In exchange, the monthly V-Bucks grant rises from 800 to between 1,000 and 1,600, depending on how many months in a row you've been subscribed. Epic laid out the changes in a post on Fortnite's official site, and the price stays at $11.99 a month.
The new bottom tier restores what Crew paid before June 6, when Epic cut the grant from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks after raising V-Bucks prices in March.
How the V-Bucks tiers work
Your tier depends on consecutive months subscribed within the past 12 months. There are four tiers. Base pays 1,000 V-Bucks in months one and two, Bronze 1,200 in months three through five, Silver 1,400 in months six through 11 and Gold 1,600 from month 12 on. Anyone who has stayed subscribed for a year or more without a break starts in Gold on Dec. 5, at twice what they get today.
Time you've already put in counts. In Epic's example, someone subscribed since June 15 with no lapse reaches seven months at the Dec. 15 billing date, which puts them in Silver at 1,400 V-Bucks. A new Crew tab in the game will show your starting tier from Dec. 5.
Lapsed members get a short grace window. If you resubscribe between Dec. 6 and 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 31, your starting tier is based on your most recent continuous stretch in the previous 12 months. After that, older subscriptions stop counting and every returning player starts in Base at 1,000.

What's going away
Each month, Crew Packs gave members an outfit and matching cosmetics that you could only get by subscribing. December's pack is the final one, and it arrives throughout the month on each member's billing date. During December, Epic will also grant every Legacy Style, the extra variants Crew unlocked over time for those outfits, pickaxes and back blings. Anyone who owns the original packs gets them, whether or not they're still subscribed.
The OG Pass covered Fortnite OG, the mode that brings back the original Chapter 1 map and seasons. It ends Dec. 5 with OG Season X. The next era of Fortnite OG isn't due until late 2027, so there won't be an OG Pass to include before then.

What Crew keeps
Crew still covers the Battle Royale Battle Pass, the Music Pass for Fortnite Festival, the LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium in Rocket League. Starting Dec. 5, members also earn 20% more XP, the points that level up your Battle Pass, and friends without Crew get a 10% boost while they're in your party. The boosts don't stack, so a party with several subscribers doesn't push anyone past those numbers.
The switch lands on the same day as the event that closes out Chapter 7 and the One Piece run that started with update 43.00.
Is Crew a better deal now?
On V-Bucks alone, yes. At 800 a month, a year of Crew added up to 9,600. By our math, someone who subscribes in December and never cancels will collect 15,600 over their first 12 months. That's 6,000 more, or the price of seven and a half Battle Passes. Members with a year or more get an extra 800 every month, exactly what a Battle Pass costs.
Collectors come out behind. Crew outfits were the one thing you could only get by paying for the subscription, and from January the extra V-Bucks can only buy whatever Epic puts in the Item Shop. Players who drop in and out by season lose ground too, because once the grace window closes on Dec. 31, every return after a lapse starts back at 1,000.
