Fortnite goes offline tonight for update 43.00, which launches Treasure Hunters, a new Battle Royale island, and the game's One Piece crossover. Epic Games' status page schedules the downtime for 1 AM ET on Sunday, November 1, and warns that matchmaking shuts off 30 minutes before that.
Daylight saving time ends at 2 AM in the middle of the maintenance, which is why Epic's three-hour window, 5 to 8 AM UTC, shows up as 1 to 3 AM on Eastern clocks. Here are the times that matter:
- 12:30 AM ET (9:30 PM PT Saturday): matchmaking is disabled, so no new matches can start.
- 1 AM ET (10 PM PT Saturday): downtime for v43.00 begins and the servers go offline.
- 3 AM ET (1 AM PT): the maintenance window Epic has posted on its status page closes.
Fortnitemares and when you can play again
Fortnitemares, the Halloween event, runs until November 1, according to Epic, but no new matches can start after 12:30 AM ET Sunday. If you still have event quests open, that's your practical deadline. Our Halloween 2026 events guide lists the rewards.
Treat the 3 AM ET end of maintenance as an estimate. Epic's support page on scheduled maintenance says there's no set end time and points players to two places to check: the Epic Games status page and the Fortnite Status account on X. Your console or PC will also have to download the update before you can jump back in.
What's in Treasure Hunters
According to Epic's announcement, the new 80-player Crossbones Isle recreates One Piece locations such as Arlong Park and Windmill Village, Luffy's hometown. You get onto the island by being fired out of a cannon, and matches include powers from the series, such as Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit and Zoro's three-sword style. Eighty players is 20 fewer than the usual 100-player Battle Royale lobby.
A new captain arrives every week with their own crew and points of interest. First up are the Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky, who the Fortnite Status account says will be the island's first boss. He brings a warship, The $.$. Rocky, and a jump rocket. Lil Uzi Vert, Captain Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto follow. There are also new Sprites, the companions that each give you an edge in a match, and our codes guide lists the six that can already be unlocked with a code.
Epic is also running Captain's Days, which add new content to the island. The first is on November 1 at 9 AM ET (6 AM PT), with more on November 7, 12, 14 and 21. The event that closes out Chapter 7 is set for Saturday, December 5.

Battle Pass and Item Shop: who arrives when
The Battle Pass includes Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin, plus anime versions of Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader and Charlotte. Gift the pass to someone and you both get a bonus style, a dark Kawaii Team Leader. Epic's announcement doesn't say what the pass costs in V-Bucks.
The other characters go on sale in the Item Shop on different days. If you're waiting for Zoro or Sanji, they don't arrive until November 7, so there's no need to spend the V-Bucks you've saved for them before then. Here's Epic's schedule:
- November 1, with the update: Luffy, Nami and Usopp.
- November 5, 7 PM ET (4 PM PT): A$AP Rocky.
- November 7: Zoro, Sanji and Chopper.
- November 12: Lil Uzi Vert.
- November 13: Buggy.
- November 14: Kasane Teto and Captain Hatsune Miku.
