Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will share more about its second year on Friday, October 9, 2026. SEGA’s September announcement places the Year Two showcase alongside the World Championship finals. The date is for the presentation, rather than a confirmed release day for the new characters or add-on packs.
Bayonetta joins the free lineup
SEGA introduced Bayonetta in a September 16 teaser and identifies her as the first free character for Year Two. Her content includes the Butterfly Witch vehicle, special emotes and sounds. Those announcements do not give her a release date.
The confirmed free content is Bayonetta’s addition. The announcements do not specify prices for the other packs or establish whether an earlier purchase would grant access to them.
The next pass starts with Godzilla and Evangelion
Godzilla and Evangelion are the first two announced packs for Season Pass Two. SEGA’s Summer Game Fest announcement in June said the pass would contain six DLC packs, or downloadable add-ons, with more details to follow. Friday’s showcase is the next scheduled look at the Year Two plans.
A season pass covers the content its publisher lists, rather than every future release for a game. Our guide to DLC, expansions and season passes explains the distinction. Owning an earlier pass does not establish that these new packs are included.

The Godzilla and Evangelion artwork here comes from the June promotional announcement. Its coming-soon and work-in-progress labels remain visible. These are earlier reveal cards, not images from the October 9 presentation.

Finals timing is separate from showcase timing
The official tournament notice schedules 24 finalists and a YouTube broadcast for October 9, from noon to 4 p.m. Eastern, or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific. Those hours cover the championship. The sources do not establish a separate start time for the Year Two showcase.
