Free Duel Mode and Bayonetta arrive November 3
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds begins Year Two on November 3, adding free one-on-one Duel Mode and Bayonetta. The announcement follows the showcase we previewed this week. In the US, the standard game now costs $39.99, with Steam listing the new base price rather than a timed discount.
Duel Mode lets each player see the rival’s items and gadgets. A Duel Boost meter builds over time and with item use, giving you an extra burst of speed to deploy tactically. The update supports CPU rivals, online matchmaking, customizable friend matches and competitive events.
Bayonetta is unlocked through Rival Duel matches. Sonic’s McLaren-themed racer and machine follow later in November, while Aigis from Persona 3 Reload is planned for early 2027. These free additions are separate from the paid pass.

What the $29.99 pass includes
Season Pass Two costs $29.99 in the US Xbox store and schedules six packs. Godzilla launches November 3 with Godzilla Escape and vehicles based on Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Mothra. Evangelion follows in January 2027 with Tokyo-III, Rei, Asuka and three EVA machines.
Virtual Sanrio Puroland brings Hello Kitty and Kuromi in Q2 2027. SEGALAND and a Midgar pack based on Final Fantasy VII Remake are planned for Q3, with the Persona-themed Reload Revival Royal pack following in Q4. Buying the pass now does not make all six packs available immediately.
Super Shadow and his machine are a bonus for owning both Season Pass One and Season Pass Two. The second pass alone does not satisfy that requirement. The free racers remain outside that purchase condition.

Existing owners should compare the pass separately
The $59.99 Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition includes the standard game and Season Pass Two. For existing owners, that edition includes the base game they already own, so buying the pass separately is the relevant comparison. Duel Mode and the free character additions do not require the new Deluxe bundle.
CrossWorlds is available across PC and multiple console generations. Before moving between versions, check the difference between crossplay and shared progression. Being able to race with friends does not establish that your pass purchase or saved progress transfers to another platform.
