Aurora Gaming won MLBB Türkiye Championship (MTC) Season 8, Türkiye's pro Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league, beating FUT Esports 4-3 in a best-of-seven Grand Final this weekend. According to a press release MOONTON, the game's developer, sent to INSERT FUTURE, the win puts Aurora into the M8 World Championship in Istanbul this January, so the Turkish champion gets to chase a world title in its home country.
M8 is the first Mobile Legends world championship held in Türkiye or anywhere in Europe, with 16 teams on the Main Stage, the tournament proper in Istanbul, according to MOONTON's M8 announcement. Back in June, MOONTON called Aurora the league's first-ever three-peat champion. Season 8 makes it four in a row.
Aurora goes straight to Istanbul, FUT heads to Bangkok
Runner-up FUT Esports has a longer road. It goes to the Wild Card in Bangkok, Thailand, a qualifying stage where 10 teams play for the last three Main Stage spots. If FUT gets through, the host country will have two teams in its own world championship.
What the release doesn't say is whether Aurora's spot comes out of the EMEA allocation (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) or is an extra slot for the host nation.
M8 tickets for the Knockout Stage and the Grand Finals are on sale through Turkish box office Biletix, and our M8 Istanbul guide covers dates, prices, the format and start times.
Who plays for Aurora Türkiye
In Mobile Legends, two teams of five push toward the enemy base along three paths called lanes, and each player fills a position. Here's how the championship roster lines up, using the roles our guide to Mobile Legends roles and lanes explains:
- Sidar "Tienzy" Menteşe, jungle. He has no fixed lane. He farms gold from neutral monsters and calls the fights over the Turtle and the Lord, the objectives that buff the whole team. - Şiyar "Sigibum" Akbulut, gold lane. The marksman, a ranged attacker who soaks up gold to deal heavy damage later in the game. - Mehmet "Lunar" Ilgun, EXP lane. He plays the fighters' lane, where one-on-one duels are common. - Ahmet "Rosa" Batır, mid lane. He holds the short middle lane, which lets him rotate to help the other two. - Lukasz "Pagu" Bigus, roamer. The support who travels with teammates to protect them and start fights.
The Turkish Aurora isn't the team that won M7 in Jakarta. That title went to Aurora PH, the same organization's Philippine roster, which Philippine outlets say will also head to Istanbul to defend its crown after winning MPL Philippines on October 25.
According to MOONTON, the Turkish squad beat Team Liquid and ONIC and topped its group at the MSC, Mobile Legends' international midseason tournament, held during Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris.
Booths, cosplay and a Road to M8 zone
Away from the stage, Hepsiburada, EXVEGA, Red Bull and Dijipin ran booths with challenges and giveaways. Fans could also meet players, enter a cosplay contest and leave messages for the world championship in a "Road to M8" area.

What changes for Turkish esports
Before the final, Alper Afşin Özdemir, president of the Turkish Esports Federation (TESFED), noted that Turkish players have always had to travel to represent the country. In January, he said, "the world will come to us."
MTC Season 7 peaked at 34,134 concurrent viewers, up 22% on the season before. M7 peaked above 5.68 million, about 166 times the Turkish league's high, according to Esports Charts figures cited by MOONTON.

Frequently asked questions
Who won MTC Season 8 in Mobile Legends?
Aurora Gaming. The team beat FUT Esports 4-3 in the best-of-seven Grand Final of Türkiye's league in November 2026. It's Aurora's fourth consecutive MTC title, a streak no other team has put together in that league.
Which Turkish teams are going to M8 in Istanbul?
Aurora Gaming, the MTC Season 8 champion, has a Main Stage spot in Istanbul, according to MOONTON. Runner-up FUT Esports plays the Wild Card in Bangkok, where 10 teams compete for three spots. If FUT advances, Türkiye will have two teams at its home world championship.
Is Aurora Türkiye the same team that won M7?
No. Aurora PH, the Aurora organization's Philippine roster, won M7 in Jakarta. The Turkish team is a separate lineup made up of Rosa, Pagu, Lunar, Tienzy and Sigibum. Philippine outlets report that Aurora PH is also headed to Istanbul after winning its home league, which would give the organization two different teams at M8.
