October belongs to the playoffs
Mobile Legends MCC Season 8 is now inside its playoff window. The regular season ended October 4, and MOONTON’s schedule places the playoffs on October 9–31. The champion earns a place at January 2027’s M8 in Istanbul.
Team Spirit entered the season holding MCC Season 7 and MSC titles. Defending the league title and winning M8 are the remaining Golden Road requirements. The schedule identifies the dates to follow, but does not establish which teams have progressed through each round.
What they did at the Esports World Cup
The Eastern European side won the MSC at the 2026 Esports World Cup on August 1, beating Yangon Galacticos 4-3 in a best-of-seven final and taking home one million dollars. That made them the first team from outside Southeast Asia to win an official international MLBB tournament, and their region only the fourth to lift the trophy, after Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
To put that in perspective, this is a game with 1.5 billion downloads and 110 million monthly players, one we keep tier lists and counters running for, and whose competitive scene had been, for a decade, essentially Asian. That just broke.
"Team Spirit winning MSC is a major moment for EECA, but the bigger story is how the region has developed around them," says Ajay Jilka, Head of Esports for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Türkiye and Western Europe at MOONTON Games. That is not marketing: Virtus.pro and Verso Time came out of this same league into international play across the previous two seasons.
Playoff and M8 dates
MCC Season 8 brings together eight teams with a $40,000 prize pool. After the August 28–October 4 regular season, the playoff final is scheduled for October 31.
The champion receives the M8 World Championship slot in Istanbul in January 2027. It will be the first M Series edition held in Europe.
What the Golden Road needs
Team Spirit already hold MCC Season 7 and the MSC. Two pieces are missing: defending MCC this season and winning M8 in Istanbul. Drop either one and the Golden Road evaporates for another year.
