Nobody has ever done it. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has an achievement that has sat in the rulebook for years without an owner: the Golden Road, winning every major domestic and international title inside a single competitive year. Eight league seasons, and not one team has closed it out.
Team Spirit are two tournaments away. The first of those two starts on Friday.
What they did at the Esports World Cup
The Eastern European side won July's MSC at the 2026 Esports World Cup, beating Yangon Galacticos 4-3 in a best-of-seven final and taking home one million dollars. That made them the first team from outside Southeast Asia to win an official international MLBB tournament, and their region only the fourth to lift the trophy, after Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
To put that in perspective, this is a game with 1.5 billion downloads and 110 million monthly players, one we keep tier lists and counters running for, and whose competitive scene had been, for a decade, essentially Asian. That just broke.
"Team Spirit winning MSC is a major moment for EECA, but the bigger story is how the region has developed around them," says Ajay Jilka, Head of Esports for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Türkiye and Western Europe at MOONTON Games. That is not marketing: Virtus.pro and Verso Time came out of this same league into international play across the previous two seasons.
The league that starts on Friday
MCC Season 8 puts eight teams together from August 28 to October 31. Regular season until October 4, playoffs from the 9th, final on the 31st. The pot is modest at $40,000, but the money is not the prize.
The champion takes the slot for the M8 World Championship, and that is the second reason to pay attention from over here: M8 is being held in Istanbul in January 2027, the first time the M Series has landed in Europe.

What the Golden Road needs
Team Spirit already hold MCC Season 7 and the MSC. Two pieces are missing: defending MCC this season and winning M8 in Istanbul. Drop either one and the Golden Road evaporates for another year.
And make no mistake, defending is not the same as winning. Seven rivals have spent a year watching them play and studying their drafts, knowing exactly who they have to knock over to reach Istanbul. My bet is they make the October 31 final, though I would not put money on them lifting it.
It streams on the mlbb_cis Twitch channel and on the MCC's YouTube.
