The Duskbloods won't make it out in 2026. FromSoftware said on Thursday, October 29, that its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive multiplayer game is moving to 2027, with no month or day attached. Nintendo's store page for the game already lists 2027, so anyone hoping to play it over the holidays will be waiting until next year.
Why it slipped
FromSoftware said the game is "at the final adjustment stage" of development. According to the studio, players who joined the network test in late August responded well to the game's core idea: you don't win only by fighting head-on, but also through positioning, movement and varied strategies.
To sharpen that, the studio is setting aside time for final adjustments to the rules and balance. With up to eight people fighting each other and the game's creatures at once, balance work is about making sure no single weapon, character or tactic wins almost every match. FromSoftware apologized to players who had been waiting.
What we already knew
Nintendo and FromSoftware revealed The Duskbloods on April 2, 2025, during the Switch 2 Direct, and FromSoftware's announcement set a 2026 release. It is a PvPvE game, meaning you fight other players and computer-controlled enemies at the same time, with up to eight players online.
The summer network test required advance sign-up and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. It was the first time the public could play the game, and it is the test FromSoftware now points to for the delay.

What the notice leaves out
There is no month or quarter for 2027 and no word on when a date will be announced. There is no price and no preorder listing either, and FromSoftware did not mention a second network test. Exclusivity is unchanged, as Nintendo's listing still shows Switch 2 only.
If you were counting on a big Switch 2 release before the end of the year, the nearest one is the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, out November 5.
