Oblivion Remastered lands complete on Switch 2. 2006's Game of the Year now fits in your pocket.

Twenty years with Cyrodiil in our memory and now, at last, in a backpack. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now playable on Nintendo Switch 2, as Nintendo highlighted in its weekly eShop roundup, and it arrives with the whole house on its back. This is the complete version of the remaster Bethesda shadow-dropped in 2025, the RPG that took Game of the Year in 2006, with modern visuals and updated gameplay.

There's precedent here, as Skyrim hit the original Switch in 2017 and turned 'Skyrim on everything' into the industry's official running joke, with Todd Howard playing along. Now the baton passes to its older sibling, which in 2025 starred in one of the most talked-about surprise launches in memory: Bethesda announced it and shipped it the same day, no pre-orders, no campaign, and it worked.

All of Cyrodiil inside, horse armor included

The package holds nothing back: the base game, both story expansions (Shivering Isles, with Sheogorath's mad realm, and Knights of the Nine) and the full collection of period DLC, from the Wizard's Tower to the Orrery. Among them, a museum piece: the Horse Armor Pack, the 2006 horse armor that inaugurated, for better and mostly for worse, the era of paid DLC. That it now comes bundled in as standard has a whiff of poetic justice.

For those who weren't there, Oblivion is the chapter before Skyrim, an open world where you can close the gates of the demonic realm the game is named after or ignore the plot entirely and take up burglary, and its remaster was one of 2025's big surprises. On Nintendo's hybrid it arrives digitally, ready to take Cyrodiil's 100 hours anywhere. Veteran's advice: join the Thieves Guild early, and let no one spoil the Dark Brotherhood for you.

The eShop week leaves more names worth noting: platformer Duskfade, roguelite BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, EVERSPACE 2 in its Galactic Edition and Madden NFL 27, all for Switch 2.
