One night to escape the hunters

Twin Swans has revealed Hunter’s Moon, a first-person narrative horror game for PS5. It launches October 26 in Europe and October 25 in North America. Price, length and PC or Xbox versions remain unannounced.

You play Lilith Thorne, a woman accused of witchcraft in a 17th-century English village. Across one night she must avoid the Witchfinder General, a magistrate and a local hunter. No monster has been confirmed. Persecution, rumour and ordinary people create the threat.

Our guide to the best October 2026 games places it beside the month’s other releases.

Eavesdropping is part of play

Lilith can listen at windows to learn routes and collect warnings, useful objects, counsel or folk songs. Twin Swans says the system draws from immersive theatre, while more than one hundred characters are fully voiced.

The team includes developers with credits on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, Little Hope, The Witcher 3 and Signalis. That background does not prove quality, but it explains the focus on story, stealth and observation.

We still need to see how much each conversation changes and whether missed information closes routes. Our gaming terms dictionary explains stealth and environmental storytelling in plain language.
