US pricing starts at $69.99
God of War Laufey pre-orders are live on PS5 ahead of its February 16, 2027 release. PlayStation’s US listing prices the standard digital edition at $69.99 and Digital Deluxe at $79.99. Orders opened on September 29, and both editions contain the same base game. The extra $10 buys equipment, resources, a digital soundtrack and a mini artbook.
A separate $10 Digital Deluxe upgrade is also listed. That gives standard-edition owners a route to the extras without purchasing another full copy, but the upgrade itself does not include the base game.
Faye, Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, leads this adventure. Her journey begins after her death, when she awakens in the afterlife of the gods. Our God of War Laufey announcement coverage explores its connection to the series’ future.
Pre-order bonuses come with either edition
Santa Monica’s announcement separates the advance-purchase bonuses from the Deluxe package. Pre-ordering either edition brings the Last Wish Armor Set, the Golden Leaves appearance for Phranque, Faye’s cosmic cube companion, and an in-game resource pack. Phranque’s appearance is cosmetic.
Items unlock through story progression rather than all becoming available immediately. PlayStation also states that download codes require an internet connection and an account for PlayStation.
What the additional $10 includes
Digital Deluxe adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales and Catalyst, plus resources, a digital soundtrack and a digital mini artbook. The Bow Scales are equipable parts for the bow. No story expansion appears in the announced package.
The equipment is not described as purely cosmetic. Santa Monica says bow scales change the weapon’s appearance and provide a perk that influences its playstyle, naming the Dark Alchemy scales as an example. This announcement does not explain that perk well enough to compare its usefulness with equipment earned in the game.
Faye’s bow has two trigger-controlled aiming modes
The Serpent Bow reveal gives the aiming trigger a specific job. A full press enters precision aiming and allows Faye to charge a volley of up to five arrows. A half press keeps her more mobile for fast, close-range attacks.
Phranque, Faye’s cosmic cube companion, can launch enemies into the air, allowing bow attacks to extend combat combinations. These are the studio’s descriptions, rather than our own hands-on findings.
PlayStation also lists PS5 Pro enhancements with PSSR, which reconstructs the image for higher-resolution output. That is a game feature rather than a Deluxe bonus. Our enhanced PSSR games list distinguishes the general technology from its newer revision.
