What the demo includes
Square Enix has released a free Final Fantasy Resonance demo on PS5. It contains the complete first chapter and transfers its save into the finished game. The company has not described it as a timed trial.
The full game launches October 22, 2026. Rain and Lasswell investigate a weakening barrier around the Earth Crystal before pursuing Veritas of the Dark. Chocobos, airships, summons and crystals connect this new story to familiar Final Fantasy language.
The transfer lets players test the battle pace without repeating the opening in October. It is not early access, and regional store availability should be checked before pre-ordering.

Turns, Visions and Sephiroth
A timeline displays the upcoming action order. Emptying an enemy’s stagger gauge cancels its turn and lowers defence, so exploiting a weakness changes both damage and what happens next.
Character events award Visions that teach abilities. Learned skills remain equippable after changing Visions if they fit the cost limit. Espers join the party for three turns and finish with a final attack.
Sephiroth appears as an optional challenge with an unspecified reward. Difficulty, unlock conditions and demo availability remain unknown. Our gaming terms dictionary explains ideas such as stagger, turns and summons.
