Paramount is developing a live-action movie set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. TheWrap reports that Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce alongside CD Projekt RED. The studio has welcomed Paramount as a future partner, while a release date and cast remain unannounced.
CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski’s public statement, reproduced by Gematsu, supports the partnership and promises details at an appropriate time. A project being in development does not establish that filming has started.
Johnny Silverhand’s actor is not a casting announcement
Keanu Reeves provides Johnny Silverhand’s voice and likeness in the game. That existing role does not confirm a return in the movie, nor does it establish that the film will follow V or recreate the game’s campaign.
The reports place the film in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe without specifying its story. They also do not name a director or screenwriter. Proposed cast lists need separate confirmation even when they feature performers already associated with the franchise.

The film and Edgerunners are separate projects
This live-action adaptation is distinct from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the animated series with its own characters and release schedule. A shared setting can support different stories without making every adaptation a direct sequel.
The images are official promotional material for CD Projekt RED’s game and Phantom Liberty, rather than frames from the film.
