Night City opens another door
CD Projekt has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Battle.net before the end of 2026. The store will sell the base game, Phantom Liberty separately and the Ultimate Edition containing both. The publisher has not yet provided a specific date or prices.
There is little reason for an existing Steam, GOG or Epic owner to buy it again. For Blizzard, however, this is another sign that Battle.net wants to become more than the launcher for its own games and a selection of Activision releases.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and Songs of the Past had already opened that door. Cyberpunk is a larger test because it remains an active brand tied to a sequel, an animated series and collaborations capable of moving players between audiences.
What has not been confirmed
We do not know when preorders will open, whether there will be a launch offer or how saves will move between storefronts. CD Projekt has not said that owners can transfer an existing license either. Until it does, the safe assumption is that each store sells its own copy.
A CD Projekt account and the game's online features may help with cross-progression, but that is not the same thing as cross-buy. Battle.net is not replacing GOG or Steam. It is joining them as another option. If you return to Night City to compare builds, our ray tracing guide helps identify which effects are worth the cost.
Ultimate includes Phantom Liberty. If you own the base game elsewhere, buying the expansion on that same platform will usually be the sensible route. Waiting for the Battle.net product page prevents a duplicate purchase or reliance on a feature nobody has promised.

Battle.net wants to be a storefront, not just a shortcut
The other half of the announcement looks to 2027. Overwatch will receive collaborations with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Edgerunners 2, although characters, skins and dates remain unannounced. The anime is an obvious bridge: recognizable designs enter a Blizzard game and point players back toward Night City.
Bundling those crossovers with the store announcement is deliberate. Battle.net gains a prestigious catalog title, while Cyberpunk reaches millions of users who already open the client for Diablo, Warcraft or Overwatch.
The move also follows The Witcher's expansion onto the platform. Our guide to Songs of the Past covers that branch. PC store competition is no longer only about exclusives. It is also about giving people fewer reasons to close your launcher.
