Claude Frontier Academy is Anthropic’s new training program for engineers deploying AI systems inside organizations. Its first residency combines a four-day intensive with a 12-week workplace project. Access begins through nominations from enterprise customers and partners, according to the program page.
Anthropic announced a $100 million commitment on October 2 and aims to train 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027. That number is a future target rather than a count of graduates.
Eligibility runs through your organization
Applicants are expected to be hands-on software engineers with strong fundamentals, experience building with language models and a record of helping others adopt AI. Previous agent-building experience is not required. Initial cohorts are associated with San Francisco, New York and London.
Interested organizations should contact their Anthropic account team or partner manager to check nomination eligibility. The website does not offer general public enrollment or publish an individual tuition price. Being nominated does not itself mean a place has been awarded.

Training is followed by assessed workplace work
The intensive consists of three training days and one practical assessment. Passing earns the Resident Engineer credential. Participants then spend 12 weeks on a real project in their organization, with mentoring and a final assessment for the Frontier Deployed Engineer credential.
If the workplace project uses agents, understanding their tools and permissions matters. Our guides to how AI agents work and reviewing connector permissions explain the actions and data access those systems may receive.
People without a nomination route can use Claude Academy, which offers free courses and educational resources. It is a separate learning option with its own material, and completing it does not automatically award Frontier Academy’s two credentials.
