The Xbox Series X25 leaks at €899.99 for Black Friday: €151 more for being see-through

Dealabs has leaked the price and date of the anniversary Xbox: €899.99 on 27 November. Microsoft showed it in June but never mentioned money.

Microsoft has spent since June showing off a gorgeous translucent green Xbox without saying what it costs. We finally have the number, and it did not come from Microsoft: €899.99.

The figure comes from a leak published on 21 August by billbil-kun at Dealabs, the same outfit that has spent years getting prices and line-ups out ahead of the companies themselves. The leaked listing describes it like this: "Return to XBOX in modern form. Introducing the limited edition XBOX Series X25 in translucent OG Green with 1TB SSD storage." According to Dealabs, the 25th anniversary Xbox Series X25 arrives on 27 November 2026, which lands on Black Friday this year, with a 1TB SSD, a translucent OG green shell, an illuminated X on the front and a matching controller whose price is still unknown.

It is worth drawing the line early, because two different things are being mixed here: the console is official and Microsoft has been showing it since June's Xbox Showcase, but the price and the exact date remain unconfirmed. Nobody at Xbox has said a price yet.

01

What is official and what is not

The design is official. Microsoft unveiled the Series X25 at its June Showcase and handed one to every attendee, so the see-through shell with the guts on display, the nod to the original 2001 Xbox and the XBOX 25 logo printed on the side are not somebody's render, they are announced product. Same goes for the matching controller, shown at the same event.

Everything else is leaked. The price, the specific day and the 1TB figure come from a retail listing, not a press release.

That said, this kind of leak tends not to last. Once a price is sitting loaded in retailers' systems, the formal announcement is days away, not months.

€151 to see its insides

After the price rise Xbox applied this very August, a standard Series X sits at €749. If the leak is right, the X25 costs €150.99 more for the same machine in a different shell with a different pad.

It is not a different console: same hardware, same 1TB, same power. What you are paying for is clear plastic, an X that lights up and the number 25 printed on the side. Put like that it sounds bad, and yet the collector market has spent decades proving otherwise: short-run commemorative editions sell out on day one and turn up at double on resale sites the following week.

I hope I am wrong, but this one is gone in under an hour, and not because people are mad, but because whoever buys it is not buying a console. They are buying the 2001 Xbox with 25 years on it.

03

Why we trust this leak

Because it is not a forum rumour. Dealabs is a French deals community, and billbil-kun posts product listings pulled from retailers' own systems, price already loaded. It is the same route the monthly PS Plus line-ups come out through, including the games expected in September.

That does not make it official, and until Xbox puts the figure in writing the price can move, particularly between countries. But a number pulled from a shop's system is a different grade of evidence than an anonymous screenshot, and it is worth saying so plainly instead of hiding behind a "could".

What is still missing

We do not have the controller's standalone price, we do not know whether units will be numbered or limited per buyer, and the big one for anyone who wants it: whether it will be sold only through the Xbox store or through retail chains too.

The formal announcement should land in the coming weeks. Gamescom starts on Tuesday the 25th and would be a reasonable stage, though Xbox has no obligation to use it. If a confirmed price comes out of there, we will update this piece the same day.
