Sony showed its August Game Catalog hand on the PlayStation Blog yesterday, and after a nine-addition July, this month brings fewer names but more weight: one of last year's best RPGs, one of the most beloved co-op games of the moment with a freshly baked expansion, and two classics with more pedigree than they seem. Here's the full list, the dates and where to start.
Every game joining the Catalog in August 2026
The main batch arrives on August 18 for Extra and Premium tiers: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (PS5), Metro Exodus (PS4 and PS5), Two Point Museum (PS5), Vampire Survivors (PS4 and PS5), Hell is Us (PS5), Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Party Dash (PS4) and Dying Light 2, which we covered last week.
The exception is Helldivers 2 (PS5), available since yesterday, and with a welcome gift: its new Void of Liberty expansion has just launched, set in the haunted abyss of the Void with new enemy types and rank progression. Arrowhead timed the Catalog landing so you jump in right as fresh content drops.
For Premium members, the month's two classics are Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire, straight from the original PlayStation, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams from PS2, a rarity Capcom never reissued, arriving right as the saga makes its comeback.
What to play first (the house recommendation)
If you only have room for one, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Warhorse's medieval RPG was one of last year's big game of the year candidates for a reason, realism down to the soup, an enormous Bohemia and the rare feeling that every decision carries weight. Getting a €60, 100-hour game for free is the month's best deal.
The second slot goes to Helldivers 2, especially if you have someone to play with, because with Void of Liberty just out you'll share servers with the community at its most active. And the third, even if it sounds like a joke, Vampire Survivors, which offers half an hour per run, zero pretensions and the biggest hours-per-euro black hole this decade has produced. Four years on every list is no accident.
The nine games leaving on August 18
The same day the new batch arrives, nine titles pack their bags, and three of them sting: Dead Island 2, Harold Halibut and Unicorn Overlord, one of the best strategy games of recent years. If you're halfway through any of them, consider this the warning, as there are five days left.
The usual trick applies, if a game leaves and you know you'll want it later, wishlist it, because Catalog departures tend to hit sales shortly after. And remember the Catalog can be shared at home if you have more than one console. We'll update this article if Sony adds surprise titles during the month, as it's grown fond of doing lately.
