The first August PS Plus game is not a rumor
Big Walk launches on PS5 on August 4 and joins the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup on day one. Sony confirmed it in March, so this name can be removed from the prediction pool: Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to claim it during August and keep it while their membership remains active.
It is the new adventure from House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game. Instead of unleashing an unbearable goose on a village, it sends two to twelve players across a huge island to explore, solve puzzles and lose their friends whenever they wander too far. Proximity chat fades with distance, while binoculars, flares and radios help the group find one another again.
Cross-play between PS5 and PC is included, although PlayStation's listing requires a permanent internet connection. It is an unusual way to open the month: a brand-new multiplayer game with far more personality than a catalog title selected on autopilot.
The other two games should be announced on Wednesday, July 29
July's Monthly Games — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II and CrossCode — remain available until Monday, August 3. That places the next lineup on Tuesday the 4th, the usual first PS Plus day of the month.
If Sony follows its routine, the complete announcement should arrive on Wednesday, July 29 at around 4:30pm UK time. The company has not confirmed that hour, but it matches the pattern of revealing the selection on the Wednesday before the change. Anyone who has not added July's games should do so before they disappear.
There is no Dealabs leak or list with a verifiable source at the moment. Images circulating on social media are mock-ups, and prediction sites are doing exactly what their name suggests. Guessing can be fun without inventing a secret source.
Rematch and Sonic Superstars are the most convincing picks
Rematch keeps appearing in prediction threads. Sloclap's football game turned one in June, depends on maintaining an active community and already launched through Game Pass. An Essential release would bring another wave of PS5 players without making August feel disposable. Nothing confirms it; the commercial logic simply works.
Our second pick is Sonic Superstars. It is nearly three years old, supports solo play and local co-op, and would add a recognizable name to a month led by a strange, social indie. The lineup would be easy to explain in five seconds: a new game for friends, online football and Sonic on the sofa.
Atomic Heart, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Tales of Arise also recur across wish lists. They are possible, but currently have no support beyond those lists. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart appears in some predictions despite spending years in the Extra catalog; Sony could do it, although that would be a poor way to reward people paying for the higher tier.
Our prediction: Big Walk, Rematch and Sonic Superstars
That is the combination we would choose today, not a leaked lineup: Big Walk, Rematch and Sonic Superstars. It covers online cooperation, competition and platforming without targeting the same audience three times. None of them needs a twenty-minute explanation to find players during August.
Sony may destroy the prediction with two completely different names on Wednesday. That is part of the fun. What we know is that Big Walk has a date, July's lineup ends on the 3rd and two spaces remain.
