End of Abyss players stopped by an energy-node door have a fix to try. Section 9’s October 2 patch addresses doors that would stay shut if the player died between destroying their nodes. The developer says it also unblocks players who have already encountered the problem.
The update is numbered 01.012.000 on PS5 and 1.0.1.2 on Xbox Series and PC. Those are platform-specific version numbers for the same patch.
Revival and map fixes
The patch also addresses a potential freeze when Cel revived with the Defibrillator mod while still taking damage. Map corrections restore a missing room and fix doors appearing to have reset after restarting the game.
These are the developer’s reported fixes, not results from our own playtest. The official screenshots accompanying this article predate release and illustrate the game’s environments rather than demonstrate the bugs or their removal.

An underground world built for revisiting
Cel is a combat technician exploring a damaged underground facility, upgrading her equipment and finding tools that let her reach more of it. Co-creator Marcus Ottvall describes how Section 9 increasingly emphasized exploration and tension during development. End of Abyss launched on Xbox Series on October 1.
Opening previously inaccessible routes with new abilities is central to its Metroidvania structure, a design principle also explored in Fallen Tear’s traversal systems. Among horror games for PS5 and PC, End of Abyss takes a top-down approach, placing Cel amid creatures and worn machinery.
