When Daba: Land of Water Scar comes out

Daba: Land of Water Scar is due on PS5 in spring 2027. Dark Star is developing the action RPG through Sony's China Hero Project. Its official Steam page also lists a 2027 PC release, without an exact day, price or system requirements.

That broad window matters. Spring 2027 is what has been announced for PS5. Any exact month or pre-order listing should be treated as provisional until the studio updates its own channels.

Adan wakes in a world drying out

The protagonist, Adan, is a humanoid Clayman who wakes without memories. He crosses snowfields, deserts and settlements while the Purple Plague spreads its corruption. Water has scarred the land, and its disappearance appears to be more than visual dressing.

His journey leads to an intentionally enormous choice: become a god, saviour or destroyer. We do not yet know how many decisions support those outcomes, but the premise promises consequences beyond the next boss. It fits naturally beside our guide to the best RPGs on PS5 and PC.

Two weapons, magic and towering bosses

Combat lets Adan carry two weapons and switch between them during combos. The footage shows blades, magical attacks, deflections and enemies that dwarf him. The important test is whether swapping alters the rhythm rather than merely expanding the inventory.

Dark Star recommends a controller on PC. At present, Steam lists only English and Simplified Chinese interfaces and subtitles. Other languages could be added before release, but buyers should rely on the published listing rather than an assumed localisation.

What we still need to learn

The major questions remain: length, world structure, PS5 performance, PC requirements and the real reach of its choices. It is also unclear whether other consoles will be announced or whether console exclusivity will continue.

Daba earns a place on our list of the most anticipated games of 2026 and 2027. It already has a recognisable visual identity and a strong premise. Now it needs to prove that exploration, combat and choice belong to one coherent world.
